Today we are talking to the CEO and Founder of Adchemic, Erik Johnson! Erik is a 17-year-old who is set on creating a massive presence in the agency space.

Erik got started in entrepreneurship from his desire to take care of his family at a young age. To make this dream become a reality, he spent hours upon hours researching ways to make an income online. Erik would discover dropshipping, and would soon make $3,500. Dropshipping was not the route he desired, so he set his eyes on a business model that better suited him.

Iman Gadzhi, a well-known name in the SMMA space, has become an influence in Erik’s life. Erik would watch Iman’s videos learning how to get started and refine his craft in the SMMA space.

Erik would go on to start Adchemic which is a marketing agency focused on helping e-commerce businesses scale with the use of Facebook advertising.

How do you stay focused on your business and eliminate distractions:

Between the age of 15–17, my focus died down and I never ever moved the needle forward, I was stuck and my mindset was at its lowest. The only progress I managed to make was in school & in the gym, but not in business.

Fast forward to December 2020, I started to listen to someone who’s worth ethic I look up to, Sam Ovens. He taught me how to acquire monk-like discipline and create my own world where success is inevitable, his mindset completely changed the way I looked at life.

Now, for the past 2 months, my diet has been on point, I bio-hack for maximum productivity, track my sleep, wake up at 5 am every day, meditate, and work with a monastic focus. So what is it that has made me acquire such discipline? A mission, a mission to build the world’s largest growth platform for online businesses. That’s currently my life’s mission, that’s my purpose, that is why I wake up every day at 5 and get to work, because If I don’t, what is my purpose?

Having a purpose in life, a real purpose is what has driven me to put 100% of my focus on my business.

Let’s take the richest man on earth, for example, Elon Musk. He never intended to become the richest man on earth, he never woke up every morning thinking “alright let’s get to WORK so I can get a net worth of $190 billion”

He had a clearcut mission

PayPal: we believe that now is the time to reimagine money, to democratize financial services so that managing and moving money is a right for all citizens, not just the affluent.

Tesla: To accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy by making the world’s most exciting car, that’s electric without compromises.

SpaceX: To revolutionize space technology by manufacturing and launching advanced rockets and spacecraft that are more efficient and capable

Now to get more specific, things like resisting impulses (not binge-eating for example), loving the pain (doing uncomfortable things on a daily basis), exercising, eating clean (currently on the vegetarian diet), meditating, sleeping, having everything well organized, time management (planning your day for success the day before), setting goals, showing gratitude, relentless persistence (just never stopping to keep going), having a vision, mission, and principles (as I said, creating your own world with YOUR mission on this planet — If you’re going to think of something, might as well think big), also things like self-discipline, tracking sleep & health and finally planning my years, months, weeks and hours.

What has been the hardest part of entrepreneurship?

Having discipline, relentless persistence & patience.

What one piece of advice would you give your younger self when you were getting started in business?

Mindset is not 95% of the work, the rest is easy. If you’ve got your mindset in the right place, success will be inevitable. Mindset comes before EVERYTHING. Without the right mindset, you’re setting yourself up for failure and you’ll never achieve the goals you desire. Long story short, listen to Sam Ovens haha, he will put you in the right direction. Since that’s exactly what he did to me.

What is your favorite quote?

“The first and greatest victory is to conquer yourself; to be conquered by yourself is of all things most shameful and vile” — Plato
